I was outbid at the last second for a pair of second row seats. I mean literally the last second, I was refreshing as fast as I could and I didn't even see the bid change before the auction ended, I just got an e-mail that says I was outbid by 10 goddamn dollars. I didn't even get a chance to bid again. Sigh. Well that was annoying.

Actually, no, that's wrong. Now that the tension is over and I've had a chance to think about it, I just realized that they fucked up. About 30 seconds before everything ended, the tickets disappeared from my My Bids thing. I assumed that it was over and I won, but when I went back to the main listing, all the tickets were still there. I thought it was just a minor quirk, until I got the You've Been Outbid e-mail. Fuck. I'm so mad.

I hate concert tickets.


At least I still have my row 7 ticket, but this means my girlfriend can't come with me. Sigh.

The same thing just happened to me. I hate the system. I wasn't able to bid on other tickets. Now, I still don't have a ticket for this show. I need one single ticket in the first few rows on the floor (Row 1 to 5). I was also planning to bid on auctions for the Montreal show until I realized that I have ticket to Genesis in Ottawa on the night Rush are in Montreal. Great.....

Oh the possibilities.... Damn that would make for one hell of a concert!!!

The same freakin' thing happened to me also. I was bidding fast & furious in the last 5 minutes an a pair of front row tix right in front of Geddy. I put my final bid in with less than a minute to go, and figured I had it. But someone snuck in and beat me by $20!! The clock ran out before I could submit another bid.

I was also looking at a couple of pairs in the 2nd row, but with only a few minutes to go I only focused on one pair, and still came away with nothing.

So I was able to get decent tix for Scranton, Darien Lake, Quebec City, Montreal, but I am totally skunked for tix to the show in my own city after countless pre-sales, general sale, auction..... Go figure.

I'm still furious about that bloody auction!!

Why can't we go back to the days when the REAL fans lined up days in advance, and were rewarded for their efforts? I'd GLADLY camp out in front of Ticketmaster if I knew that doing so would result in me getting in the front three rows. Fuck the internet. It doesn't matter how much you love the band, how long you've been a fan, how much they've influenced the course of your life, it all comes down to how big your fucking bank account is.

Well if money is no object to someone then they will get good tickets no matter what. The negative thing about the internet that kinda bugs me is that tons of brokerage companies in the States have the majority of good tix in the first 15 rows. Then when you factor in all the people who buy up tix and resell them as a sideline business there isn't a hell of a lot left for regular fans who only want 1 bloody pair of tix......

Oh well, if it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't be able to get decent tix, and travel to other cities to see some extra shows.

And the "good old days" of camping out for tix weren't really that great if you were more than a few people back in the line. Many times I would be 10-15th in line and end up in the nosebleeds 20 minutes after tickets went on sale. And then you would just end up back dealing with scalpers trying to upgrade to something better. It's a vicious circle!
