Post in this thread if you plan on attending the Sept 21st show, just so we're all clear on who from CP will be there, and everyone can set up a pre-gathering type thing if they'd like before the show.

I will be attending the event, obviously. I'm in 107.
Rush Didact
I'll be there!! I can't wait!!!!
Prime Mover and Shaker
I'm there like underwear!!!!
AngryRushNerd
Underwear goes to concerts? Hmm. Learn something new everyday.
Gecko
I'll be there too.

I'll be there as well. I'm not sure where my seats are, I won a pair of tickets on the radio station last week and the tickets have not arrived yet. I'm not sure who I'm bringing yet either, could be my brother (who took me to my first ever Rush concert back in 84)...
Rush Didact
Alright, so where are we getting together before the show? I'm kinda curious to meet all you people! I've never met anyone from CP before... ph34r.gif

lots of weed
lube

Oooo, sounds exciting! wink.gif Except for the booze. I haven't been drunk in months, so my tolerance is zero. I could get wasted three times over on $20 right now.
Prime Mover and Shaker
RD - it's your town, right? Where should we meet up, assuming we all get there early enough to do so?
Rush Didact
Hmm. If I wasn't going to be a res fellow next year I'd gladly offer my place for a pre-show party, but that wouldn't go over well. Then again, it might. If y'all don't mind coming to Carleton University to hang out, I'll have a room, and supposedly a decently sized one to boot. I'd have to wait to find out exactly where I'm going to be living before we plan anything permanent, though. If you're thinking of a bar, there are a couple good places. I don't know anything about the area around Scotiabank Place, though, it's kinda out in the middle of nowhere. (Speaking of which, I need a ride.)
scooter540
I'm gonna be there.13 rows back from the stage in section C.Awesome seats for an awesome show.
Bastille Night
I've got my friend in Ottawa scoping out places for pre- and postshow gatherings. He's specifically going to see if any bars are going to have a shuttle going to and from the venue (some places in Toronto have done this as a ploy to get people back in their bar after the show). But if all else fails, we'll pretty much carouse anywhere. BigshiteatinGrin.gif

No, I won my tickets on Rock 101.9 FM - they gave out 4 pairs of tickets during the week. I was walking into work listening for the "Rush Trivia Question", my Tim Horton's coffee in one hand and the cell phone in the other hand calling in frantically. I was lucky to win a pair of tickets!!!!

Well it's been a struggle, but I finally got tix to the show happening in my own town! woohoo.gif

After getting tix to Scranton, Darien Lake, QC, & Mtl relatively easily, it's been difficult snagging any decent Ottawa tix. Losing out in that auction still makes me mad. angryfire.gif

Anyways, I finally obtained a pair of FLR C, Row 3 tix and am pretty psyched about it. This is the closest I will be out of my 5 shows. I was gambling on front row for the auction, but came up $20 short. I still ended paying more than cost, but it's at least $150 less than the front rows were going for, and many other tix I've seen on various broker sites for the first 4 rows. And they were hand delivered to my front door only a couple hrs after purchasing them.

So my itinerary is finally set, and I can't wait for that 1st show on June 29th culminating with my last on Sept 21st.

Given the difficulty getting to Scotiabank Place during a Friday "rush" hour, a possible meeting place for C-Peeps could be Marshy's or Frank Finnigan's right at the venue.

RD, if you are really stuck for a ride, and don't mind hanging around a couple guys twice your age grizzled.gif , my bro' and I will be driving to the show. I don't live too far from Carleton U.

Can't wait!

That would be fun!

Whereabouts are you exactly? I just moved to an apartment near Billings. Wouldn't it be weird if we already knew each other and didn't realize it? ph34r.gif

I live in the Hunt Club area a few blocks from South Keys. It would be weird if we somehow already knew each other, but I don't think I currently know anyone of university age. tongue.gif Unless you've been hanging around the old folk's homes we probably haven't met........ BigshiteatinGrin.gif

Hunt Club Honda or Gary's at Alta Vista........why, are you offering to do it for me?! blink.gif
Rush Didact
Well, Gary's is right next door to where I work! If you come to Tubman Chevrolet, I'll fill out your paperwork for you! tongue.gif

Isn't the bar inside the arena decent? I hung out there before the T4E show in '97.

And yeah. The arena IS in the middle of nowhere.

Are you coming back to the Nation's Capital SD? Unfortunately, the Rush show will be a few weeks before the Sens hang their Stanley Cup banner for the start of the '07-'08 season. ban.gif

But like I said above, Marshy's or FF's would probably be the best & easiest......

His name makes me die laughing. Makes me imagine someone moving and shaking at the same time.

I wonder if it was Rush's intention to have everyone imagine someone moving around primely for the song prime mover. If so they are fucked in the head.

Here's a suggestion for a pre- and post-show meetup place from a guy over at TRF.

QUOTE
Local Heroes in the west end has buses for Sens games - I am thinking if we had enough interest I can talk to the owner and see if we can arrange to book a pile of RUSH tunes there for us there before the show - and see if we can have the bus swing us down to Scotiabank Place.

Anyone interested drop a line here and if we have enough interest I'll see if we can arrange something.

If interest is smaller - we should at least grab a big assed table at one of the bars at the arena so anyone interested - from out of town or otherwise can meet up for some sudz.

Anybody here ever been to Local Heroes? A shuttle bus sounds like a good idea to me, because otherwise I think I'll end up being DD!

I have a Local Heroes near me on Bank St, and I have taken their shuttle to Sens games. Obviously the West End location is a lot closer, but my opinion would still be to meet at Marshy's or FF's right inside Scotiabank Place.

Taking a shuttle still requires driving through Fri night traffic to SBP, then getting through SBP security...etc in order to get there on time. Personally, I just like the idea of already being there at the venue, and when it's time, just walking inside to your seat.

Of course for people who are worried about driving after drinking too much, maybe the shuttle is something to consider.
Rush Didact
I can't drive anyway (have I mentioned how much I hate being a student?) so I'm either shuttling or hitching a ride with one of you guys. Wherever we meet is fine with me I guess, although meeting at SBP is probably the best idea, IMO.

Just got the tickets that I won from the radio station - not the greatest.... I'll be in section 102 - oh well I get to see Rush for a 3rd time on this tour and did not have to pay for these so that's a bonus.

So the tour goes like this for me: Saratoga (June 30th) Musictoday presale, Montreal (September 15th) Amex Presale and Ottawa (September 21st) won tickets on the local radio station.
Superconductor
12th row centre! Got them through Ticketmaster presale. Still haven't got em' in the mail yet, though.
AngryRushNerd
got my tickets in the mail last week.
