is this allowed? it seemed like alot of people were partying and tailgating in the parking lot at the R30 show prior to show time. I know most of these outdoor venues, they have security in the lots forcing people to enter the venue and leave the parking right away. on that night, sandstone didnt seem to have the nazi security out harrassing people. can i expect a similar lax in security this time around. lets do it up right. bbq sizzling, beer, bourbon and bowls freely enjoyed, frisbee being tossed, and rush blaring from our car stereos. see you there.

I've never had trouble at Sandstone...you're old like me. Still don't call it Verizon. Anyway, we've always had a cooler and just to be smart poured beer into cups and had them covered. Had a couple of minors with me for R30 and they came by just to see what they were drinking, but took them for their word that it was Coke...and it was. I don't know about grills. Wouldn't think an issue, but I'm not for sure. I remember seeing some, but don't know if there were any issues or not.

Its been a few years since I've been to Sandstone but used to go there alot and never had any trouble from them about tailgating. Last few years Ive been going to St. Louis because its closer and they wont even let you sit in your car there. Also the crowds seem to be quiter there thats why Ive decided to drive the extra miles to hit Sandstone again.

Dude, you just totally solved a dillema for me. I used to live in Joplin so I've been going to Sandstone for all rush shows for years. I now live in springfield so I thought I might go to the St. Louis show. but if they're dicks and won't let you drink in the lot, then Sandstone again for me. I always tailgate at Sandstone. The thing about Rush is though, you've got to get their early. They're notoriously punctual!!! Remember R30, the tix said 8 and they meant 8!!! I was still getting my drink and t-shirts when the show started!!!

Very punctual. There's really not a lot of time to tailgate, outside of pounding a couple of beers in the parking lot. If I remember right, if you're standing around about half hour before show time, security makes you go in ... which I guess is a good thing so you won't miss the start of the show.
