Ive only been there once, on the r30 tour. on that night i had the last seat in the first row of the left orchestra section, all the way at the end of the stage on alex's side. it was ok but way too far to the left. i have a chance of getting 10th row in the left section, so really 12th row if you include the orchestra rows, 10 seats from the center aisle. If im not mistaken, I think this section has 25-30 seats per row. what will this seat be like in your opinion? is it worth it? how far over to the left will i be? if im looking at the stage how far to the left of alex will i be?

on the r30 tour it seemed like they only had one entrance to the place. is this normal for this venue? took forever to get in and that line seemed to stretch for miles.

Unfortunately, yes, it is. I've been to every big amphitheater in the Midwest, and this one is the absolute WORST for traffic flow. There are 2 ways to get in off the Earth City Expressway, but they both lead to the same entry for the lot. About the only good news I can say is they FINALLY folded the parking charges into the ticket price in the last few years (by far the last place to catch on to that idea). It does help somewhat not having every car make a transaction, but the bottleneck is still there.

Two suggestions:

1) Leave very early. I would target getting to the venue's neighborhood an hour before AT THE LATEST. That would leave some padding for the predictable lineup.

2) Take the southern entrance. Come up the Earth City Expressway from the south off MO 364 to avoid the jam off I-70 (the exit is called 'Maryland Heights Expressway' there) and take the first entry in at Riverport Drive South which is the first signal past Prichard Farm Rd., or if coming off I-70 go past the sheep going into Riverport Dr. North (DO NOT take that entrance!) to the next signal and make a right. If coming from the south, there is a dual LT at the signal - use the lane with the fewest cars; they both go to the same location! The line should be shorter than the Riverport Dr. North one, but still keep Suggestion #1 in mind.

That's some good advice there, commish. The only thing I'd add is that paying the extra 20 bucks for the Premium/VIP parking is worth it, IMHO. Using the pic you linked to as a reference, this lot is the one right next to the box office building in the upper left hand corner. If you look closely at Riverport Dr. South along the side of the venue, you'll see a thin driveway running parallel from the parking lot to the street. See it? Well, when the show lets out, while everyone in the general parking lot is funnelled out to the left towards Riverport Dr. North and that looooooooong laborious trip around to the north exit, the VIP parkers are quickly funnelled out to the right down that narrow driveway and on their way in less than 5 minutes. Last month at Pointfest, it took me longer to walk out of the venue to my car than it did to get out of the parking lot and on my way home!

I agree - the $20 VIP parking is worth it -especially if you don't want to leave early and miss the encore just to beat traffic. The upside is that the concert is on a Friday night and for most people, there will be no big rush to get home, get to bed and go to work the next day - so sitting for a while after the show won't be a huge deal.

On another note - did anyone order presale tickets for this concert? If so, have you received them yet? I ordered them on the opening presale date and haven't received them yet, and I'm getting a bit worried...I had a friend that ordered them for the KC show and he got his a couple of weeks ago. I just want to make sure that mine haven't gotten lost in the mail! If someone could let me know and take a load off my mind I sure would appreciate it!

Okay - thanks guys. That makes me feel a LOT better. I know the site said they would send out and e-mail when the tics were sent, but you always wonder if somehow you've fallen through the cracks.

Appreciate the help!!
