I am on row H(8th row) almost directly behind you--I will be with either my wife or son. I don't know of any pre-show gatherings at this point--not to many of us CPers here in Utah.

For what it's worth, I'm a Minneapolis CPer who will be there for the Salt Lake show, along with my son, a brother from Chicago, and a brother from Provo. Sort of an interstate gathering.
Anyone have any comments about USANA? I've never been there. I first saw the band in '84 in the old Salt Palace, and I saw them in the Delta Center (whatever it's called now) a few times before I moved to the Midwest. The only other outdoor Rush show I've seen is in Chicago, and it was a lot of fun. I'm wondering if USANA is any good.

Usana is a lot of fun-you will like it-much better venue than the Delta/Energy Solutions Center.

Hi Lucky,
Went to the Usana for the R30 Tour for Rush. Its a pretty cool place to see a concert, however security is a bit overzelous at times, almost felt like I was at the airport
Lessons learned from the last trip: If its hot, bring lots of water, (or lots of money $5.00 for a small cup is a bit pricy in my book) glare back at security when they glare at you, and bring lots of money for their over priced beer.

All that aside, it was indeed alot of fun.
Me and the wife are going to be in 101 row B seats 1 and 2, and very much looking foward to this concert. Not real sure how many of us CPers are going to be there but it will be a fun time, you can bet the farm on that.

Hey, Syriux, we'll be seeing you there. I'll be in section 102, row A, Geddy's side, with my four-foot-something eight-year-old son, although we're going to swap with my brothers back in the nineteenth row for part of the show so they can get the front-row experience. It should be interesting for all of us. ("Dad, what's that guy smoking?" "Dad, what's that funny smell?")

I'll be there with my neighbor, but we opted for the grass seats.

Mirk--didn't you have to work last tour? maybe we will meet finally.

Yes, but I just drove past the VIP entrance guard and sat outside listening. My Sgt. was laughing cause I kept handling all the phone details. I missed the first couple songs and made it about four songs into the second set before I got a call I had to leave on.

It's an okay Venue. The problem is that the stage faces west. Last tour, the video was totally washed out by sunshine until the sun went behind the Ophir Mountains. It's cool seeing the boys in sunglasses though.

FM, you got that right. The screens were a total loss, but I couldn't believe Alex in sunglasses. He looked like Mr. Hollywood

Woohoo! I'll be there, row K if I remember right, on Ged's side.
I went to the R30 show there as well, and loved it. Sonically it's far better than the delta center, but there is the problem mentioned of the sun glaring out the video screen for the first hour or so...

I will take the sun over the crappy delta center sound anyday--almost wish they would play the e-center or that we could go back and hear them in the old salt palace again.

Heyyy!
Flying Miner here. We will be getting into SLC the afternoon of the show. There are four of us and we are planning on going to the Market Street Grill before the show. It is one of the best "land-locked" grottos that I have been to. Seriously. The oyster selection is phenomenal. I'm thinking a couple dozen oysters a few beers then off to the show. See you all there around 4:30. We'll be in black Snakes and Arrow shirts with the "Flying Miner Tour" enblazend on the back.
As for the show: Section 102 Row N seats 15-18. 14 rows back - dead center. Should be mind numbingly good. Especially for my two friends who have never been to a concert; let alone Rush! Stop in and say HI.
Ciao

Hi all,
Here is a shot from Alex at the pre-show warm up. I don't know who took this pic, I got it from a web site where someone had a camara backstage at the R30 tour. The site also got some really great shots of gear and that kind of stuff. Kudo's to them for sharing. Without further adoo....Mr. Hollywood:

As you can tell by the solar blanket laying to the left of Alex it was one very hot day there that day. If memory serves me correct, it was like 98 degrees, and did not cool down tell well after midnight.
Mirk, were you around at the post show war between SLC PD and and the two drunken fans?
All the best,

My flight doesn't land until 4:55 so we'll see what time it is after we get off the plane. We may just have enough time to make it to the show. Then back to the airport to wait for our flight at like 7:30 am.

Nope. That would have been West Valley PD. I work for the Sheriff's Office and was not there for the end of the show.

For all those interested in gathering I will having the touring banner from The Rush Tour Forum. Would like to get a photo with the banner for anyone interested. At this time I am unsure where I will be as I am unfamiliar with this venue( coming from Denver) A couple suggestions were at the front entrance and at the Arrow 103 fm booth. Let me know if any tailgating is planned and I will meet everyone there.
