Aaaah... this will be show #5 of 5 for me this tour. Unless of course MSG gets added, and then it will be #5 of 6

Flying out from Baltimore with my wife and another couple, and maybe my brother.
I've been to Red Rocks twice, but not for Rush.
Got decent seats left side Row 14, and dead center Row 24. Haven't decided which to keep and which to give to my friends yet.
Looking forward to some rocky mountain high tailgating

Flying in from Baltimore for this show. This will be my fiance's first Rush show.
Row 7, next to the soundboard.
I have 2 tickets to sell as well. Row 18, Geddy's side. Will sell for face value ($230.00).

I'm there. Row 16 right side. I saw them on the R30 show, nearly dead center row 3. Won't be so fortunate or spendy to see them that close this time. This will be show 2 of 3.

I'll be there!
As a local, I would HIGHLY recommend getting there early, assuming weather is good. (It usually is, all summer long...)
I'll be BBQing, drinkin, smokin, and playing all the random, obscure Rush I can find at high volumes throughout the afternoon.
One small piece of advice for you sea-level dwellers: You may want to cut back on the alcohol consumption a bit for this show. If you aren't acclimated to the altitude, it can make 2 beers feel like a six pack. Wouldn't want you to spend your Red Rocks Rush experience worshipping at the porcelain altar!

Hey,
I've been a member here forever but could never sign in. Had to start the whole registration process again. Anyway I am 15 min. from Red Rocks. I will be up there early in the day trying to get an autograph or maybe a photo like Rushgirl. I won 2nd row seats which is practically on stage at RR. Possibly doing a BBQ at my house the day before the show. That will depend on when I fly home from the show in Utah on 8/6. Also going to see them in Chicago 9/8. Hope to meet you all at Red Rocls.

Thank you for the advice (and I'm sure my hubby does as well). I'll have to remember that. I have a tendancy to drink ALOT of beer when having a good time while not even realizing just how much I've actually drank. That would suck being sick at a Rush show (at any show for that matter).

I have never had a problem with the altitude. Now at 11,000 feet (top of Breckenridge, Vail, etc), it can make a difference. It's drinking in the sun that gets a little sketchy.
Beer flows in my veins. I'll have to pace myself for a long tailgate.
Gotta remember to sneak in a beer coozie to keep the brew cool and delicious.

Not really, it takes weeks for your body to adjust.
As "I the Jury" mentioned, Red Rocks is only a bit above Denver altitude, 6,000 feet or so, not up at 11,000+ feet like the Summit County resorts. When people visit here from sea-level, and instantly go up to 12,000 feet and try to ski / snowboard, lots of 'em get sick.

Go figure. Going from sea level to 6,000 feet isn't nearly as big a shock to your system, many folks won't notice much, but the altitude affects everyone a bit differently.
I'm certainly not suggesting you refrain from partying... THIS IS A RUSH SHOW AT RED ROCKS, YA KNOW~!!!
Waitin till August...

There's lots of good hiking out of the Golden area, you also may want to take a trek up to Boulder. There are many great hikes starting from the NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) building, which is in SW boulder at the end of Table Mesa Drive. You can park for free in the parking lot there, and trails start right off the back edge of the research center.
Many local breweries offer tours (samples included!), you may want to check around for schedules.
www.boulderbeer.com
Boulder Beer Company offers tours M-F at 2 PM, or by appointment.
http://www.averybrewing.com/HomeI'm not sure about tours here, but MMMMMMMMM, I love me some Redpoint Amber Ale and Out of Bounds Stout!

Elves checking in for Red Rocks!
I have reserved a yurt for Golden Gate State park for the 6th and 7th for a bit of rustic camping and communing with nature beforehand!
Living below sea level does tend to make me a bit altitude sensitive so I will be taking it easy!
I have always wanted to see a show at this venue so I am really looking forward to seeing RUSH there!

I live about 15 minutes from Red Rocks and for those planning to visit, I would recommend going up to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. You can picnic, hike, check out sites from over 14,000 ft up and there is a town near there, Estes Park where you can walk around and eat and buy tourist stuff.

If you're just looking for a place to crash, Lakewood is a decent area. It's somewhat eccentric, and there are older and cheaper motels, coffee shops, restaurants, and other big city stuff down the road.
Also very close to Red Rocks. I'd suggest W. Colfax, Wadsworth and Almeda Ave. I'd consider it a relatively safe area.

I know a number of people that are staying right off Quincy and the freeway, which is south Lakewood. There is also a Hampton Inn right down the road from RR in Golden and a Holiday Inn on Colfax in Golden, I think those are closer.
