A while back, Ouchie (now Ouchie2112) posted that his friend Tom (a major Rush fan) was on a multiple transplant list and would be missing the tour this summer. Here is the original thread:

After reading through this, to say that Ouch's friend is facing an uphill battle is an understatement. For those of you who have experienced or witnessed a loved one trying to battle through a health crisis as severe as this, you'll realize that it is very easy for a person to get discouraged and give up hope. So I had an idea....
With all the peeps here at CP, pretty much every show in the North American tour will be represented by some CP'ers in attendance. I was thinking it would be a cool thing to have a "thinking of you/get well" card with some snapshots from each venue for Ouch's friend Tom. I'm looking for 1 volunteer for each show along the tour to do the following:
1. Buy a get well card.
2. Bring it with you to the show and get some of your fellow Rush fans to sign it.
3. Take some photos - a pic of the concert venue, tailgate pics, any pictures you may be allowed to take inside the show, etc. - and include a few photos in the card.
4. Mail it to Ouch's friend. (Snail mail.)
By the end of the summer, Tom will have amassed 48 total get well cards with photos - a visual memento of Rush's entire North American tour. It is my hope that this get well card project will give Tom an extra spark of encouragement - to let him know that fellow Rush fans are wishing him well and, more importantly, to give him something to look forward to with each passing tour date.
It's a small gesture (and I know some of you are probably thinking why on earth would we send a card to someone we've never met), but it might just help him get through what is sure to be a summer of hell for him and his family.
