I know the show is too far away for everyone to know for sure what they will be doing but thought I would start a thread to see if there is any interest in getting together somewhere before the show. If there is we can pick a time and place closer to time for the show. Here’s a little info on my group. 3 of us all around 40 I’ve been a long time rush fan and seen them multiple times, my crew leader at work Rush has been someone he’s always wanted to see but this will be the first time he’s made it, and his g/f all I know about her is she’s excited about going. I’m also sitting on an extra ticket waiting to decide who gets that.

I will be there. Im going to try and take my 2 nephews as well. Im 39 they are in their mid 20s. I took my one nephew to the sandstone show in 2004 and we had a great time. KC will be my 17th time seeing rush and if my nephew goes this will be his 3rd time seeing rush. Give me a place and a time and we're there. Arthur bryants isnt too far away from sandstone. that might be a decent place for dinner unless were just meeting for drinks beforehand.

The orange stuff. No way. Not for me. If I ate that stuff before a show, I'd be listening from the great acoustics of the portapotty...stuff would tear me up and we just can't have that before a show. However, the basic BBQ would be awesome.

I haven’t been to Arthur Bryant's is it just a restaurant or a bar too? In Saint Louis we have found Dave and Busters to be the best place to meet for these reasons.
1. Its close to the venue
2. It has a bar that gives a place where people can show up early if they want and have a place to wait.
3. It has a restaurant so if you get hungry you can eat.
4. It has a huge arcade so those bringing younger people with them will have something for them to do while we have drinks.
Not knowing K.C. that well wondering if those that live near there think about good spots that might offer many of these things. Always up for good BBQ but it can be hard to get a group of people coming from all over at the same spot at the same time like you kind of need to at a place that’s just a restaurant.

Theres dave and busters, applebees, and hooters all out by arthur bryants by the speedway which isnt too far from the venue. a few miles northeast of the venue.

It looks like we now know who our fourth person is gonna be unfortunately it didn’t help us clear up our plans. We wont know if she’s going to have to work that morning till right before the 23 maybe not till the night before. It looks like the best I can do to narrow down our arrival time is to say we will get to K.C. between noon and 4pm on the 23. So you guys sound off where you want to meet and we will try to catch up with you when we get there

Venue is truly out in the middle of nowhere, so we'd have to meet up several hours a head of time and then head out to venue. As the time gets closes we'll get a solid plan.

Hey Rushpeeps,

Since it's now a little under one month before KC concert, I'd like to propose a SUGGESTION for our meeting/pre-show party: Let's meet at Arthur Bryant's BBQ at 1702 Village West Pkwy. It's only about 4 miles east of the venue, and would be an EXTREMELY convenient meeting/dinner place for me. My husband will be eating with me, also.

Arthur Bryant's sounds good to me. Test4eggroll said there is a Dave and Busters near Arthur Bryant's so thinking we would head there before eating. If anyone else wants to hang out that would be great. That way we can arrive at Arthur Bryant's at the same time also. Those that know the area best will have a better idea how long things take but was thinking something like Dave and Busters from 3 to 5 then moving to Arthur Bryant's And then maybe some tailgating at the venue. Let me know what you guys think.

two11two,
It sounds like you have a GREAT plan!!!! If you prefer Dave and Buster's BBQ, all of us could even meet there, instead of Arthur Bryant's............it would be SIMPLER to meet at only ONE place, I think, and then, everyone could go to the venue to tailgate........or do whatever their individual plans may be, closer to the concert. I like that 3-5 pm. time slot, and that Dave and Buster's is NEAR Arthur Bryant's, 'cause that means it is ALSO close to the concert venue.
I hope to meet Test4eggroll, Permanent Wales, and ALL OF YOU KC concert PEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!

Where we eat is not a big deal to me since we will be there for at least a couple of days we will have a chance to hit the BBQ. We where just thinking Dave and Busters because two of us want to have some beers, one doesn’t drink and if my son goes he’s under age so at Dave and busters there will be something for non drinkers to do. I’ve only been to Dave and Busters in St. Louis but I’m guessing they are all mostly the same Restaurant, Arcade, Pool Tables and Bar.

Two11two,
I didn't realize before that Dave and Buster's offers MUCH MORE than just barbequed foods on its menu. After checking out the website, I now see that barbequed items are only a SMALL part of a varied menu, offering something for just about everyone. I also checked the D&B idea out with my husband, Ed, and he said he's FINE with it. SO...............I'll GLADLY go along with either restaurant (A&B or D&B), especially since I've never eaten at either one of them, although my slight preference would be Arthur Bryant's, because I've heard the restaurant has GREAT BBQ.............and I LOVE GOOD BBQ!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously, we need to "take a vote" on this, or just see how the other members feel about this. At least, hopefully, we've all narrowed the choices down to these 2 restaurants!!!! Again, I'm FINE with either of these two meeting places. I just want to meet you PEEPS before the concert!!!!

Bryants is the better place for BBQ by far! D&B is a Chucky Cheese for adults. I hope to be down there by late afternoon. I don't know I'll get there in time to eat. However, I do plan to tailgate a bit at the venue. As we get closer we'll have to get a definite plan.

Bryants is the clear choice for BBQ I would say. I was just saying that D&B is where we will be hanging out for beers before hand and would be happy to have anyone join us that might want to. If noone wants to move from D&B on the day of the show we will be hitting Bryants the next day most likely so not a big deal for us if we do BBQ or not.

two11two,
We could always stagger the times on these meeting places, too, since they are both so CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. I think that's what you were maybe suggesting all along. For example, you and whoever wants to, could meet up at D&B around 3 pm., and stay until maybe 4 pm. or 4:30.............then, you guys (only if you want to) and again, whoever wants to, could meet at Bryant's BBQ at around 4:15-5:00, or something like that. This may work well, because the two restaurants are SO NEAR each other. Also, this way, PEEPS have more options, and can still meet EVERYBODY. Sorry, this is SO CONVOLUTED!!!!!!!!!!

We can change our plans to fit everyone else’s schedule but right now it looks like we are planning to hit the Ameristar for brunch and a little gambling early in the day. Then we will head to D&B around 3pm then over to AB for BBQ around 5pm. Friday we are thinking maybe the W.W. 1 museum and maybe the Nelson Atkins museum.
